“Because God says so.”

Honestly, that’s the only thing I need, right?

Three ways that impacts my life:

  • I am not defined by my job.

  • I am not defined by how I look.

  • I am not defined by my past or the choices I have made.

A lot of my anxiety and mental health issues have stemmed from not feeling significant enough. When I moved away, I was friendless in a new town. I watched all my friends back home be together on the reg while I sat alone in my apartment in Kennewick, WA working my but off in an extremely competitive industry.

There were times that I let that define me. The “loner” that moved around a lot. The girl that can’t sit still and will probably never find a significant other because she has had to make a lot of choices and find out life on her own and no one wants someone that independent.

Yikes, that too real for this blog about being brave?

It’s the truth. Actually it’s a lie. A lie that the enemy wants me to believe. That I could win all the awards and be the best one at the rink with a microphone and the one that everyone listens to... but it still won’t matter.

Forget that and everything before it. I am who God says I am. Beautifully, wonderfully and perfectly made in His image with a weird sense of humor, the loudest voice in the room always and an impulse to sing everything, always.

I am that and so many other things. And guess what’s awesome?? So are you.
