Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. - Romans 5:3-5 ESV
Be Brave: What does perseverance look like for you today? - 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs
There are many many many many MANY moments where I wanted to hang up my TV hat. Many. I would get into these dificult and uncomfortable situations, cry, call my mom and say "that's it, I'm giving up."
But every time... and I mean EVERY time... she would say "You can give up, Kel. You can pack up and come home." Then there would be a beat. And then she'd say: "But I don't think that's really what you want."
And it wasn't. And it wasn't what God had for me. God didn't call us to things to give up and quit when they get dificult. He called us to know when things are no longer glorifying Him or serving others.
"Suffering produces perseverance." It's kind of a bleak quote. But it's true. Look at guys in the bible like Job or Joseph. They went through hell on earth and made it through to the other side to tell about it.
You will too.
A song I've been listening to on repeat the past few days is Truth I'm Standing On by Leanna Crawford. I've shed many tears over the past few days to this song. It's a song where the lyrics, I believe, God is speaking into my heart.
