“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” - Isaiah 43:18-19

Be Brave: Bob Goff says quit something every Thursday. What can you quit this week?

Did anyone else watch “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix? If you haven’t, I highly recommend making time for it in the coming days. It’s about an hour and half in length.

If you have watched it, you know the struggle of wanting to axe ALL of your social media in the recent weeks.

I watched it last night. As soon as it was over, I went into Snapchat, deleted my account. I deleted Instagram. I purged my phone.

Even right now I am typing away on my notes app and it’s scary. Because you never realize how dangerous and unregulated social media really is until you watch that movie.

Now I am probably not going to delete my Instagram account. Too much good has come from having that app. Heck, I’ve met friends through that app! I’ve set up stories that were for sure a long shot by getting in touch with athletes.

To quit doesn’t mean quitting full turkey. But for me, it’s quitting the bad stuff that comes along with social media. I am trying not to be a mindless scroller anymore. I’m trying to make sure my social media and internet activity serves a purpose.

Again, I highly recommend watching the Social Dilemma. It will open your eyes about the world-wide-web and maybe even scare you enough to put your phone down.
