BE BRAVE: In your journal, or here in the margins, list some ways your life is unique. What do you love? How do you like to spend your time? What ways do you see your life as different from anyone else’s?

My life is unique in a great deal of ways. For starters, since college I haven't lived within 150 miles of my family/friends. Two weeks after graduating in 2017, I moved across the country to the middle of Washington State to start my career as a sports broadcaster.

I've moved six times since 2017. From apartments where I lived with a stranger to my own place in Duluth, Minnesota.

I've loved and hated it all at the same time. I love how brave it's made me. I love that I have gotten to a place in my young 24-year-old life where I feel that there isn't a lot that life could throw at me that I couldn't handle.

More than that, I love what it's done to my heart. Do you know what happens when you move to a place 1,800 miles from everything you know and you know NO ONE in this new place? You are DESPERATE for friendship and community. Living in the Tri-Cities forced me to be so brave in ASKING people for friendship. Did I look like the sad, lonely girl from Minnesota? Oh heck yeah. But I found some beautiful souls that I am still friends with today.

The Lord always fulfills His purpose. Always. Did I know that working in the Tri-Cities, interviewing 7-foot athletes on a stool (see cover photo) would eventually lead me to some wonderful opportunities to do sports in the Northland? Heck no!

But my advice to you is to wait and be patient. God is always on time and He made you for an exact purpose in your own perfectly unique way.
