“BE BRAVE: What dream is in your heart that you haven’t seen God do for you yet? What would it look like to be full of hope, even if you don’t know how this story is going to end?”

— 100 Days to Brave: Devotions for Unlocking Your Most Courageous Self by Annie F. Downs

I’ll tell you that from the moment that I got to step onto out of the dugout at Target Field as an intern in 2016... I knew I wanted to be a sports broadcaster in the Twin Cities.

Here’s the thing many don’t realize about this insane industry: if you want to get to a big market... you gotta spend some time in the minors.

That’s why my career began in the Tri-Cities, WA. Market 122 out of 200. TV markets are ranked by size. For example, New York City and Los Angeles are ranked numbers one and two, respectively.

Duluth is number 139 but I didn’t come here because it was a big market. I came here because they offered me a job two hours from my hometown.

I LOVE Duluth. Truly. I love the people here, I love the hockey, I love the athletes, coaches and families I have gotten to meet over the past two years.

I love community and people and Duluth fills those needs so well.

But I would be lying if I did not tell you that I would like to be in the Twin Cities. I grew up watching the sports anchors do their thing down there. In college I only dreamed about getting to work alongside them.

God knows this dream well. I don’t know what He has in store for me in my life... but He knows very well how much I long to call the Twin Cities home again.
