So don’t be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. But we know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer: death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus.

- 2 Timothy 1:8-9 (MSG)

I've been a Christian since I was seven years old. I was so blessed to grow up in a Christian household that put Jesus at the forefront, made a point of going to church every Sunday and was heavily involved in our church community.

I know that isn't everyone's story. Which is why I make a point to share mine every chance I get.

My story is ACTUALLY that I have struggled with severe social anxiety since high school that only worsened into my adult life. My story is that my body image and number on the scale often tries tells me what my self-worth is.

But the story begins and ends with Jesus. How He runs after me, taps me on the shoulder and says "hey, all that stuff about you being too big or too anxious or too lonely... those aren't true. You were made in an image of the one who is most holy."

He often has to remind me.

Jesus has saved me more times than I can count in my 24 years of living on this earth. And He wants to save you. He wants to be your best friend in the whole wide world.

I promise you, hand to heart, it will be the best friendship you ever have.

Be Brave prompt: Think back to your day, where can you see God working on your behalf? Or just showing up for you?

When I woke up this morning... and He told me to write publicly about my faith journey and friendship with Him. And how He has saved me. So here I am.

Where has God shown up for you?
